In this particular session we decided to deviate from the normal romantic colors. We implement a scheme that contrasts the normal reds, magentas, oranges, and yellows. Blue brings about a very conscience set of decision making. It substitutes as a representation of sadness or various medical practices. Contrarily, there are other instances where blue can represent life and peace. We brought these very things out of the image by presenting the color so as not to overwhelm the composition nor the subject. In lifestyle photography you want to ensure that all elements are believable with a natural or candid aspect to them. We combine looks directly focused on the camera and those looking away. This provides a feeling of catching the model in a moment.

Just like our previous shoots, flagging the light and focusing the strobe allowed us a look that swallows any spillage of light. This show we can maintain the quality of our blue lifestyle photography.

We used both strobe and constant led lighting. The trick is positioning and powering the strobe in such a way that it does not overpower your constant lighting. Images from these sets are based more on the mood that the photo exhibits based on colors, so any loss of such would be a huge detraction from the message being delivered. Using a set of gobos, some of the earlier images in the set were taken to give a window-blind effect. These also lends to the dramatic aspect that we were looking to capture in the images. Although light is important, balancing the lighting, color, and the proper amount of shadow is crucial.
