NayMarie of Adorned in Taji

Shooting with Nay Marie of Adorned in Taji never disappoints. The style and energy she brings to a session is always perfect. Every now and again we have a sit down to create a new set of headshots and portraits for her. The reason we do this is that her looks and branding changes frequently enough that we need to keep things fresh. Noone likes an image that represents an old version of themselves they no longer connect to.

Freedom of Choice

When working with Nay Marie of Adorned in Taji, there are only ever two requirements. 1. We have to make sure that they are a visual representation of her essence/personality. 2. The jewelry she makes has to be a highlight of some magnitude within the images. You will see that Nay wears a very beautiful set of complementary adornments. They connect in multiple places but always bring a beautiful aesthetic to the images. What we do is develop creative headshots that will allow the use of hands and movement within the images. The lack of movement would otherwise place this in a more standard headshot zone, which is not Nay Marie. Because of this, I have full freedom of choice to direct and capture how I see fit.

The last important factor is making sure that Nay’s Crown aka her Hair, is shown just as prominent as her adornments. In this session we are working with her FroHawk which stands very high and very expressive. It is something you cannot hide, nor should you want to. Just note, if ever capturing someone with a lot of hair that is or starts vertically, this will place the facial plane a little lower in the composition. Understanding this and executing a balance is very important as can be seen in our final images.
