Rayven the Phoenix Magazine Cover Shoot for Taji Mag. A fiery phoenix lifestyle shoot based heavily on color, movement, mood, and texture.
If most people can’t tell by now, which I’m hoping everyone does, I love a great deal of fog. This particular shoot aimed to provide a double sense of motion through the contrasting movement of the fog and the model Rayven. I rely on speaking with models first. This allows me to get an understanding of the type of person that they are. Rayven seemed very familiar to me and I soon found out that her astrological sign was the same as mine. This is something that was once rare, but is becoming more and more of a regular occurrence during shoots.
There were a few things that had to be taken into consideration for this shoot. Normally when combining light and led you have to worry about intensity of the led; however, when you find yourself in the realm of mixed colors, there is a certain sensitivity that matching light can either drown out or completely eliminate. You have to be absolutely perfect in understanding constant light and led mixtures.
Rayven the Phoenix Magazine Cover Shoot – How things turned out:
Rayven was an absolute blast to work with. In the shoot she really took matters into her own hands with posing and expressing herself through constant movement. A lot of her posing focused on the juxtaposition of hands and facial expressions. During the shoot we made sure to capture a lot of varying poses; however, the most important aspect was making sure to have multiple focal length poses to play with perspective. One particular shot had such a profound background element effect that we chose to leave the images of the led and strip boxes included for atmosphere. Overall the magazine cover shoot turned out amazing!
